Great biography and lots of great pictures

This book will be a collector's item very soon and will be extremely valuable. It contains some stunning album cover and sleeve photos and lots and lots of other pictures of the band members. It details all the history of the band and its members, their ups and downs and their reactions to everything that has happened in their careers. Lots of interview time with each member and they are very candid about things. You think you know these guys from other interviews or album liner notes? Not like you think you do. I feel like I would know these guys if I met them after reading this book.

A must-read for any singer!

Jerome Hines has written one of the best books I've read yet on vocal technique. Perhaps it has something to do with his background in Science. Maybe it's just several decades of singing professionally while remaining teachable throughout.
Mr. Hines knows and demonstrates that there is not only one way to sing well. In fact, he advocates trying different ways and being forever curious about how others are singing and attempting to incorporate what works well into one's own singing.
Overnight, some of my confusion about vocal "placement" was cleared up and I'm already reaping the benefits of this well-thought-out book in terms of how I sound and how I'm approaching singing.
This book should be in the library of any singer who already has a decent grasp on singing technique. It is certain to be a great resource for professional singers for many years to come.

The angry ranting of an obscure, small-party politician, the first volume of Mein Kampf was virtually ignored when it was originally published in 1925. Likewise the second volume, which appeared in 1926. The book details Hitler's childhood, the "betrayal" of Germany in World War I, the desire for revenge against France, the need for lebensraum for the German people, and the means by which the National Socialist party can gain power. It also includes Hitler's racist agenda and his glorification of the "Aryan" race. The few outside the Nazi party who read it dismissed it as nonsense, not believing that anyone could--or would--carry out its radical, terrorist programs. As Hitler and the Nazis gained power, first party members and then the general public were pressured to buy the book. By the time Hitler became chancellor of the Third Reich in 1933, the book stood atop the German bestseller lists. Had the book been taken seriously when it was first published, perhaps the 20th century would have been very different.

Beyond the anger, hatred, bigotry, and self-aggrandizing, Mein Kampf is saddled with tortured prose, meandering narrative, and tangled metaphors (one person was described as "a thorn in the eyes of venal officials"). That said, it is an incredibly important book. It is foolish to think that the Holocaust could not happen again, especially if World War II and its horrors are forgotten. Written eight years before he assumed power in Germany, the book lays it all out: his megalomania, his conspiratorial obsession with Jews and his lust for power. For all who claimed they didn't know, all they had to do was read Mein Kampf to know of Hitler's intentions.

Original Mein Kampf with Tons of Photos

I am not here to criticize or defend Hitler, but as a historian, professor, author and a journalist, I am here to release a factual, fair, unbiased and objective analysis of this book, yet first to make a few points:

I. In America we don’t ban or censor information (like this book is banned in Germany), on the contrary we allow public to read Communist, Fascist, Islamic, Nazi and all other ideologies’ texts, and then judge for themselves about these texts. This is called freedom of information in a democracy.

II. If you avoid the public to read something, they will go to great extent to discover what it is that you avoid them to read. Every action causes a reaction, equal and to the same power, yet in the opposite direction.

III. As much as Hitler is criticized and hated in the West, yet he is admired and adored in many parts of the world such as East Europe (Romania, Bulgaria, and Hungary), Middle East (Turkey, Iran, and many Arab nations) and other areas. So it all depends who you speak to!

IV. Like it or not, Hitler is the architect and creator of a global political and economical ideology named National Socialism (Nazism) which any free thinker or curious person must study like he studies any other ideology.

V. To study and comprehend Nazism you must study and comprehend Mein Kampf (My Struggle) which is basically the Nazi Doctrine written by Adolf Hitler.

This book is the best source of information to do this task. I speak 5 languages. I first read Mein Kampf in Persian (back in Iran) and I last read it in English (this book). I am here to tell you that this book is the original English translation, the best translation and the most accurate translation of Mein Kampf available.

If you are a history buff, student of history, political junkie, information junkie, scholar or just a enthusiastic reader, then this is the most accurate and unbiased (pro or against) version of Mein Kampf to read. This is the original (1939 version) of Mein Kampf in English translated by James Murphy (distinguished Irish translator) to be distributed in the Britain and the Western World. The translation is extremely well done. There is also a fine introduction by Bob Carruthers (Scottish historian, scholar, filmmaker and author) included. In addition it is illustrated with tons of original photos (some rare) from the 1939 publication.

If you want to read Mein Kampf for the first time, brush up on it or read the accurate version, then this is for you. It is the republished copy of the best version available. This book is historically and philosophically valuable and worthy to study and to read. I recommend this book to all.

MARY POPE OSBORNE is the author of the New York Times number one bestselling Magic Tree House series. She and her husband, writer Will Osborne (author of Magic Tree House: The Musical), live in northwestern Connecticut with their three dogs. Turns kids into readers

The Magic Tree House series turned my unenthusiastic grandson into a book lover. Having trouble finding books he'd actually sit down and read, I bought a couple of these titles at his school's book fair. He picked one up that afternoon, and didn't come out of his room until dinner time, and then went back in his room to finish the book. Read a whole book in one day. Now, he does it all the time! He loves this series, and it has made him a fan of many other types of books, as well. He now loves to read. He even picks up the encyclopedia and reads it!
